Q: Why should I leave my fishing holiday planning to Fishing Adventures rather than do it myself?
A: We are a specialist fishing travel operator and a licenced travel agency.We have done all the work for you! We have searched Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific and come up with a catalogue of first class destinations all proven for their challenging and exhilarating sports & fly fishing. Each also includes the best available accommodation, meals and local guiding. All you have to do is choose the destination!
Q: Do you have any more destinations other than what is listed on this website?
A: Things change, new destinations emerge, and old ones go off the boil. At Fishing Adventures we will always have our finger on the pulse monitoring current product and looking for new and exciting fishing destinations, lodges, species etc. New product will be added to our catalogue regularly so we recommend you subscribe to our free newsletter to stay informed.
Q: I love fishing but my partner is not that keen. Can they be accommodated?
A: Most of our destinations have many other activities available to cater for non- fishing partners and friends. These are all listed on the different product pages. Ask us what is the best destination for you and your partner.
Q: Can I do a trip of a longer or shorter duration?
A: Yes. Although our rates are often displayed for three, four and seven day packages we can arrange stays of any length. Please enquire.
Q: How do I know the guides you use are any good?
A: All guides have been thoroughly vetted by Fishing Adventures and/or the appropriate lodge operators. All guides are local and very knowledgeable to the specific area, are fully insured and are professional and patient in nature. We are fully aware that the guide can make all the difference to your fishing holiday so we only use the best we can find.
Q: Do we have to take our own gear?
A: Experience tells us that many people prefer to use their own gear. Especially fly fishers….that is OK. Some destinations provide all gear on a replace if lost or damaged basis. Some provide some gear and in some places you have to bring your own. Once you have settled on your preferred fishing adventure contact us and we will send you a list of what is required.
Q: Will food and drink be provided?
A: At all lodges, camps and motherships all meals are included whilst in residence. Alcohol is not included but can be purchased on site or pre-ordered at time of booking.
Q: Do destinations run all year round?
A: In most cases seasonal factors inhibit all year operation. The exception is Bone fishing on Christmas Island in the Pacific.
Q: Is Fishing Adventures a licenced travel agent?
A: Yes. We are a fully licenced for world wide operations by the federal Government with our licenced issued by the Northern Territory government. Registration number NT137.
Q: Fishing Adventures arrange airfares as well?
A: Yes we have access to worldwide flight and accommodation services and we can organize all of your travel agents.
Q: Is travel insurance necessary?
A: Definitely. A small outlay is a wise investment to cover unforeseen health, air travel, lost luggage and other issues. This can be organised through us or another avenue you choose.
Q: Can I still book a trip if I am traveling alone?
A: Of Course! Our prices are displayed on a twin share basis but we can source the best available single rate for you. In some cases we may be able to match you with another single fisher person of the same sex who is willing to share.

Q: Can I charge my camera/video batteries etc.?
A: Yes. All destinations have mains power with the exception of wilderness camping adventures.
Q: Does it matter that I am not an experienced fisherman?
A: No. All of our adventures are fully guided by professional and patient guides with many years experience and an intimate knowledge of their local waters. They will happily cater for novices and experienced fishers alike. However, to get the most out of your holiday, if you are new to fly fishing we strongly recommend you take casting lessons starting well in advance of travel.
Q: Do I need sheets and towels etc?
A: No. All of our adventures are fully catered
Q: What if I have a medical issue?
A: Any medical condition that might require any special care whilst on the fishing adventure should be advised at time of booking. This is only to ensure that the relevant lodge, camp or ship can provide the appropriate care and all information will be treated with the strictest confidence. All guides hold the relevant first aid qualifications.
